Examinations of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC), Dakhil and Secondary School Certificate (vocational) under ten general education boards began on Thursday morning.
On the first day examination of Bangla first paper is being held that began at 10.00am and will end 1.00pm.
This year the exams are being held with uniform and creative question papers. Only Bangla 2nd paper and the two papers of English will have no creative pattern.
This year, a total of 20,31,889 students, including 10,23,212 boys and 10,08,687 girls, are taking part in the examinations.
In 2017, a total of 17,86,613 students - 9,10,501 boys and 8,76,112 girls - took part in the examinations.
16,27,378 students are appearing in the SSC examination under the eight general education boards this year while 2,89,752 in Dakhil examination under Madrasah Education Board and 1,14,769 in vocational examination under Bangladesh Technical Education Board.
The examinations are being held at 3,412 centres across the country.
The written examinations will end on February 24 next.
