Jhanvi’s birthday without mother

The daughter of late Bollywood actress Sridevi has turned 21, only days after her mother tragically passed away in Dubai. Jhanvi Kapoor – the daughter of Sridevi and Boney Kapoor – turned 21 on Tuesday March 6 and was wished a happy birthday by her cousin, Sonan Kapoor who called her ‘one of the strongest girls I know’. She wrote on Instagram: ‘To one of the strongest girls I know, who became a woman today. Happy birthday jannu.’ Jhanvi has followed in her mother’s footsteps and has become an actor, who will make her film debut in 2018’s Dhadak. Over the weekend Jhanvi paid tribute to her mother, who would found unresponsive in the bathtub of her hotel room by her husband, Boney, after she attended a family wedding in the city. Jhanvi took to Instagram to pour her heart out to followers about the loss of her mum, revealing the ‘hollow emptiness’ she now feels without her. She posted an image of a message, which read: ‘There’s a gnawing hollowness in my chest that I know I’ll have to learn how to live with. Even with all the emptiness, I still feel your love… Every time I close my eyes, I only have good things to remember. ‘You were too good, too pure, too full of love. That’s why he took you back. But at least we had you.’ Sonam has also posted tributes to her family member, including a message on the family’s behalf on March 1, in which she requested for privacy as they grieved. In the statement, the family noted that the priority would be the well being of Sridevi’s two young daughters. This was echoed in a separate statement by Boney Kapoor, Sridevi’s husband and the father of Janhvi and her sister, Khushi. Sridevi passed away on February 24 from accidental drowning. Boney Kapoor, later detailed Sridevi’s last moments, revealing she died just two hours after he surprised her by showing up unannounced at her hotel. After their reunion he suggested they go for a ‘romantic dinner’, and with Sridevi still in ‘relaxation mode’ she decided to have a bath. ‘I went to the living room while Sridevi went to the master bathroom to bathe and get ready,’ Boney was quoted by his friend Nahta as having said. Sridevi’s husband then spent 15-20 minutes in the living room flicking through channels. At 8pm he decided they needed to get moving, worried about the restaurants becoming too full for them to find a table. Nahta wrote in the blog: ‘Boney’s impatience made him shout out to Sridevi from the living room itself. After calling out to her twice, Boney lowered the volume of the TV set. Still no reply. He then walked to the bedroom and knocked at the bathroom door and even called out to her. ‘The unsuspecting husband, hearing the tap inside on, then called out ‘Jaan, Jaan’ [meaning life, as Kapoor used to address his wife] still louder but got no reply, which was unusual.’ Source: Agencies
