Indefinite blockade demanding reformation of quota system

Students and job seekers have enforced an indefinite blockade to the all educational institutions across the country, demanding reformation of existing quota system in government recruitment. The blockade began on Monday morning. Demonstrators under the banner Bangladesh Shadharan Chhatra Odhikar Sangrakkhan Parishad (Bangladesh General Students’ Right Protection Council), brought out a procession on the Dhaka University campus on Monday morning. On the other hand, Chhatra League, the student wing of ruling Awami League, announced that they would prevent the demonstrators. Bangladesh Shadharan Chhatra Odhikar Sangrakkhan Parishad came up with the announcement on Sunday night, after they were dispersed from Shahbag intersection. University students and job seekers blocked the road demanding reformation of the quota reservation in government recruitment tests. But police dispersed them from Shahbag after charging batons and firing tear gas on them.
