Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’s engagement party was a celeb-spotting extravaganza, Alia Bhatt and the Ambanis made it. Ranveer Singh was invited too but not Deepika Padukone, say reports. Turns out Priyanka Chopra’s engagement party had its share of surprise snubs: namely actor Deepika Padukone. Ever since it was revealed Deepika’s rumoured boyfriend, actor Ranveer Singh, would be in attendance, it might have been assumed she was on the guest list too. Deepika and Priyanka seemed friendly when they appeared together on the fourth season of Karan Johar’s chat show Koffee With Karan (2014) and acted together in Bajirao Mastani (2015). A report now says that Deepika didn’t get an invite? A source told media, “Deepika has always been supportive of Priyanka and she would have definitely gone to wish her if she was invited. In fact, everyone knows Ranveer and DP are a couple and will walk down the altar this November. So, it’s odd that PC left Dippy’s name out of her guest list. Who does that?” Neither Deepika nor Priyanka have commented on this. Priyanka, Nick Jonas’s engagement festivities started with a round of morning ceremonies — roka and pujas — at her home in Mumbai on Saturday. The newly-engaged couple kept the celebration going into the wee hours of the morning after Saturday night’s glamorous engagement party. The highly-anticipated bash was a celeb-spotting extravaganza, boasting a guest list of actors Alia Bhatt and Parineeti Chopra, as well as industrialist Mukesh Ambani with wife Nita and daughter Isha Ambani.

Sara Ali Khan, who is yet to make her debut in Bollywood, has already landed herself in legal trouble. A film producer of her debut film Kedarnath has filed a suit against Saif Ali Khan's daughter over a dispute over dates, The Times of India reported. Hitesh Jain, the producer of Kedarnath, dragged Sara, her agent and talent management company to court to restrain the actress from working on her second film Simmba starring Ranveer Singh as she has already given dates for her debut film. Guy In The Sky Productions wants the court to direct Sara to complete the shooting of her first film and also demanded Rs 5 crore in damages. According to TOI, the question discussed in the court is whether the actor can give their dates, which was initially allocated to some other, to another film. In his complaint, Jain said that last year, Sara agreed to come on board as the female of the film along with Sushant Singh Rajput as the male lead. An agreement was also made last year regarding the same. However, now according to the plea, she was informed that the shooting of Kedarnath will happen in May, June and July, but her agent said that she won't be available in June because she has given dates to Karan Johar and Rohit Shetty's Simmba. Well, this is not the first time that Sara's debut has embroiled in a controversy. The film has been facing trouble ever since its inception. In February, there were reports that the film has been shelved, later it was revealed that the producers had a fallout. Prernaa Arora of KriArj Entertainment dragged the director of the film Abhishek Kapoor to the Bombay High Court for circulating bogus statements. "In response to the various bogus statements and slanderous/defamatory material being circulated in the media by GITS against KriArj it may be noted that all such statements/articles are absolutely baseless, bogus, frivolous and without any merit or semblance of truth whatsoever and are hereby totally denied and stand rejected. There is enough material to show that KriArj has complied with all its commitments as per their understanding with AK / GITS," the statement issued by KriArj Entertainment's lawyer Lavin C Hirani said. Arguments were in progress in the court regarding the quantum of punishment for Salman. The accused landed in Jodhpur on Wednesday ahead of the court hearing. The daughter of late Bollywood actress Sridevi has turned 21, only days after her mother tragically passed away in Dubai. Jhanvi Kapoor – the daughter of Sridevi and Boney Kapoor – turned 21 on Tuesday March 6 and was wished a happy birthday by her cousin, Sonan Kapoor who called her ‘one of the strongest girls I know’. She wrote on Instagram: ‘To one of the strongest girls I know, who became a woman today. Happy birthday jannu.’ Jhanvi has followed in her mother’s footsteps and has become an actor, who will make her film debut in 2018’s Dhadak. Over the weekend Jhanvi paid tribute to her mother, who would found unresponsive in the bathtub of her hotel room by her husband, Boney, after she attended a family wedding in the city. Jhanvi took to Instagram to pour her heart out to followers about the loss of her mum, revealing the ‘hollow emptiness’ she now feels without her. She posted an image of a message, which read: ‘There’s a gnawing hollowness in my chest that I know I’ll have to learn how to live with. Even with all the emptiness, I still feel your love… Every time I close my eyes, I only have good things to remember. ‘You were too good, too pure, too full of love. That’s why he took you back. But at least we had you.’ Sonam has also posted tributes to her family member, including a message on the family’s behalf on March 1, in which she requested for privacy as they grieved. In the statement, the family noted that the priority would be the well being of Sridevi’s two young daughters. This was echoed in a separate statement by Boney Kapoor, Sridevi’s husband and the father of Janhvi and her sister, Khushi. Sridevi passed away on February 24 from accidental drowning. Boney Kapoor, later detailed Sridevi’s last moments, revealing she died just two hours after he surprised her by showing up unannounced at her hotel. After their reunion he suggested they go for a ‘romantic dinner’, and with Sridevi still in ‘relaxation mode’ she decided to have a bath. ‘I went to the living room while Sridevi went to the master bathroom to bathe and get ready,’ Boney was quoted by his friend Nahta as having said. Sridevi’s husband then spent 15-20 minutes in the living room flicking through channels. At 8pm he decided they needed to get moving, worried about the restaurants becoming too full for them to find a table. Nahta wrote in the blog: ‘Boney’s impatience made him shout out to Sridevi from the living room itself. After calling out to her twice, Boney lowered the volume of the TV set. Still no reply. He then walked to the bedroom and knocked at the bathroom door and even called out to her. ‘The unsuspecting husband, hearing the tap inside on, then called out ‘Jaan, Jaan’ [meaning life, as Kapoor used to address his wife] still louder but got no reply, which was unusual.’ Source: Agencies

Tiger Zinda Hai, which has Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif in lead roles, has crossed the Rs 300 crore mark at the box office and broken multiple records in the process. The movie, which released on 22 December, has finally broken the spree of failure for Bollywood's big-budget movies starring prominent stars; for example last year's Tubelight and Jab Harry Met Sejal. Tiger Zinda Hai was expected to cross the Rs 300 crore mark soon, as reported earlier. Tiger Zinda Hai, produced by Aditya Chopra under the Yasj Raj Films banner, has also become the highest grossing Yash Raj movie of all time. That Jacqueline Fernandez is teaming up with Salman Khan and Remo D’Souza for Race 3 is now a well established fact. However, do you know anything about the character in the film? Well, the actress is reportedly going to be seen playing a tough cop in Race 3 alongside Salman Khan. This is definitely a very hatke role compared to the girl-next-door kind of roles we have seen her play in films till date. Apparently the makers wanted to change the role of the tough cop character which was being essayed by Anil Kapoor in the previous two installments. So they decided to go in for a female cop instead of a male one in this film. A source close to the development revealed to DNA, ““Jacqueline has an interesting character in this thriller. She will be the one at the helm of things, who will be inspecting the whole situation, much like Abhishek Bachchan in the Dhoom series.Given that this is a speed-based thriller, Jackie will have a lot of action sequences and stunts, which she will do herself.” This will be the first time that Jackie, as her fans and co-stars love to call her, will be seen playing a cop on screen. Barring one scene in A Gentleman, which gave Jackie a chance to showcase her badass side, the actress hasn’t tried a challenging role like this till date despite being a part of films like Flying Jatt, Race 2 and Kick. Meanwhile, Jacqueline is busy gearing up for the release of her upcoming film, Judwaa 2, alongside Varun Dhawan and Taapsee Pannu. The film is slated to hit the theatres on September 29 of this year. Once that happens, she is expected to begin shooting for Race 3. Her co-star Salman is also in the midst of wrapping up Tiger Zinda Hai and will reportedly sit with the whole team of makers and directors and finalise the script before starting with the shoot. The source further added that tentatively Race 3 will role sometime in October.
